I decided not to stay in Istanbul for the rest of my stay in Turkey. For two days, I went directly to all and spent 12 hours each day visits to Istanbul and wandering around trying to absorb it. A German man and Canadian man of my hostel joined me for the second day. We went to the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art, which had a lot of Dali banners on the outside of it. We didn't know that Dalí exhibition was "far" after the museum until we entered. It was small but I think it useful to read the 7 entrance fee. We also checked the city, or the new part of town. It is strange to see modern skyscrapers of glass for the first time in a while. Istanbul is certainly a city of contrasts.
I spent my last hours in Istanbul drinking and playing chess with the Canadians and Real Madrid at the hostel. They were one of the best groups of people I met here and I started to wish I had a few more days in Istanbul. Instead, I took a hot, stifling overnight bus to Olympos, this beach city on the Mediterranean. I'm staying in this village that Treehouse is very well by the festival to welcome travelers. I leave on Friday for a four-day trip sailing in the Mediterranean in this place called Fethiye.
That's all for now. I must go to a nap because this place has a Nighter feel to it. Oh, it seems that the thing to do in the middle of the night here is hiking up the cliff where these fires natural gas have been burning for thousands of years.
August 29-31 and beginning of September--Orientation Week Travels
How can I begin to describe the experience of the past few days, when
they have already changed me more than I could have ever imagined? How
do I find the words to describe the awe that filled me when I stumbled
upon St. Peter's Square on our first night out in Rome? Or the deep,
mysterious feeling of walking the streets of a place as ancient as
Ostia Antica? How can I share with you the saltiness of the
Mediterranean and the way that it lifts you off your feet and for a
moment you are floating? Most of all, can I find a way to tell you how
very different I have already become since I set in this place?
I do not know if I can describe it all, as some experiences are so beautiful and so magnificent that they defy explanation. Nevertheless, I wil try to share as many details and stories as I can with you so that you will feel as if you are here with me. And I can assure you, I am taking all of you with me in my heart.
We must pass from Italy for incunearli and in order verifying to us in Vérone here because the night train is full. Therefore we must sleep on the platform. I was that only who has slept for like 1 a.m. If it were tires and therefore a cold. But then we have travelled in first train outside from here to 5:30 AMNDT that similar we have obtained in Ventimiglia that it is the edge of Italy in France and that we find the part external of the train we will not go to Nizza, France because the ponticello is outside in the interval. But there was fortunately a bus therefore has arrived here we. We have arrived in France we have gone to the pension and we have slept during like 16 hours that have felt the odore of good superb. Then us muoviamo towards the beach and we are become relaxed for the day. Much back the high we have rifinito to obtain the flarings and it has really been hurt. Ouais and we of the OH have gone to swim in that Mediterranean. How much people can say that one? But I have seemed bronzante during the days of a brace if you can believe them.
As usual, we had a breath to travel to the island. We left India with 5 the morning, flew to London, awaited the airport 8 hours, flew to Greece arriving at 2 AM, made a turn of bus of 1 a.m. to the stand of vat, awaited until 7 AM for the vat, did a turn of vat 8 hour old, obtained a turn of bus of 1 a.m., and right as that we arrived!
We
remained in the town of Perissa, and our hotel was stages far from a
quiet black blank of sand and a choice of the incredible restaurants
serving Greek and European foods. We explored them by the foot our
first day, obtaining our first outline of the famous whitewash with the
blue roofs which characterized how we imagined the Greek architecture.
To see at the person that the contrast of the white buildings against
the pure blue sky struck and regenerated. A tropical fruit macedoine
giving on sands was the perfect end at our first day of the life of
island. The ordering of one hour far we reached the town of Oia famous
for beautiful couchers of the sun, and astounding sights of the
traditional Greek houses. The city is placed on the peak even of a hill
with a Russian grating of mountains that that carries out to the bottom
with a nearby port. It was beautiful to explore and take photographs
of, but unfortunately was also packed with the tourist stores and the
expensive restaurants. A spot preferred for artists, we saw many
painters and beautiful galleries filled with their interpretations. The
sector is amazing and inspires with the facility. Hypnotized by the
beauty of the sector, we found a balcony with a sight and roasted with
wine of Santorini while we observe the sun lie down.
Each inch of ground on Santorini which is not occupied by buildings seems to be employed to cultivate grapes. Only here they are not developed in the lines during wire. Because of the intense sun of summer and strong winds, the farmers weave the vines in a low lying basket where the grapes can develop protected against the elements. We were not sure what were at the beginning they because they do not look at anything like the formless vines the Zealand News! Which voyage it was for us, and in way or other survived us it intact and with some best perspicacities in one the other and the world. Thank you with each one which followed the voyage with us, it meant so much with each one of us with the feeling connected to the friends and to the family while we were parties. We hope to see you soon all!
